How to Create a Trust Wallet Cryptocurrency Wallet: A Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners

You don't need trading experience or a crypto purchase to set up a wallet. If you want to receive cryptocurrency, the first steps are to create a wallet, protect your recovery details, and find the correct receiving address.

In this beginner-friendly guide, you'll learn how to install Trust Wallet on your phone, create and secure a wallet, and copy an address for the cryptocurrency you need. We'll also walk through an example of receiving a payout from ByteLixir. The steps are useful even if you're not a ByteLixir user yet.

Quick start: Download Trust Wallet from its official website → create a new wallet → securely back up your recovery phrase → select the cryptocurrency and blockchain → tap Receive → copy your address. Before requesting a payment, make sure the blockchain matches and verify the entire address after pasting it.

What Is Trust Wallet and What Is It Used For?

Trust Wallet is an app for receiving, storing, and sending supported cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and several versions of USDT. It's available for Android and iPhone, as well as a browser extension. This guide covers the mobile app.

A crypto wallet is different from a bank account. When someone sends you cryptocurrency, they use a wallet address: a string of characters associated with a particular cryptocurrency or blockchain.

Two things are especially important to understand:

• Receiving address: You can share this with a person or service sending you crypto. Always check that the cryptocurrency and blockchain match the intended transfer.

• Secret recovery phrase: Usually a sequence of 12 words that can restore full access to your wallet. Never share it with anyone, including support teams.

Creating a new wallet is free. You don't need to buy cryptocurrency or add a bank card just to create it or view a receiving address. Fees may apply to some transactions later.

Step 1. Install Trust Wallet on Your Phone

1. Visit the official website: trustwallet.com/download.

2. From there, open Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone).

3. Check the app name and developer, then install the app.

4. Open Trust Wallet and tap Get Started if that screen appears.

Avoid download links shared in unsolicited messages or random comments. Use the official website and the app-store links provided there.

Step 2. Create a New Wallet

When you open the app for the first time, select Create a new wallet. Don't choose Add existing wallet unless you already have a wallet and its recovery details; that option is for restoring a wallet you previously created.

Next, Trust Wallet will ask how you'd like to back up the wallet. A straightforward option for beginners is Back up manually: you write down the secret recovery phrase and store it somewhere safe, away from your phone. Some app versions also offer protected cloud backups, which have their own password and security requirements.

Step 3. Save Your Secret Recovery Phrase

This is one of the most important steps. The app will display a sequence of words that can restore your wallet if you replace your phone or reinstall Trust Wallet.

Write the words in the exact order, without mistakes or missing words. Keep the paper in a secure location. If possible, store a second written copy separately. Trust Wallet may ask you to confirm some words to make sure you've saved them correctly.

Never do the following: Send the phrase to yourself in a messenger, post it online, take a screenshot, store it as plain text in your notes, or share it with ByteLixir or Trust Wallet support. Anyone with this phrase may be able to access the funds in that wallet.

Once the phrase is saved, set an app passcode and enable fingerprint or face recognition if available. These features help protect access on your phone, but they do not replace the recovery phrase. If you lose both your phone and your recovery phrase, you may be unable to restore the wallet.

Step 4. Find Your Crypto Receiving Address

After setup, you'll see your wallet's home screen with a balance and buttons such as Send and Receive. A new wallet usually shows a zero balance, and that's normal.

To find an address, tap Receive and search for the cryptocurrency you want. Depending on the app version, you may need to open the asset first and then select Receive.

Trust Wallet will show a QR code and a wallet address. Tap Copy. Copying the address is usually easier than typing a long sequence of characters manually.

Important: Check your wallet address AFTER pasting it, not just before copying. Clipboard-hijacking malware can replace a copied address. Compare the entire pasted address with the one shown in Trust Wallet before confirming a payment.

Always Match the Cryptocurrency and Blockchain

Choosing the right cryptocurrency is only part of the process. For example, USDT exists on several blockchains. USDT on TRON (TRC20) and USDT on Ethereum (ERC20) are different transfer options. Selecting one when the sender uses the other may cause the funds to go to the wrong destination.

Before copying an address, check the details provided by the service sending the payment:

1. Which cryptocurrency is being sent — USDT, BTC, TON, or another asset?

2. Which blockchain is specified — TRON, Ethereum, or another one?

3. Can Trust Wallet receive that exact combination of cryptocurrency and blockchain?

If the payout service specifies USDT on TRON (TRC20), select the TRON version of USDT in Trust Wallet. For USDT on Ethereum (ERC20), use the Ethereum version instead. These are examples, not a guarantee that every payout service supports both options.

If you're unsure whether the options match, do not confirm the transfer. A mistake involving the address, cryptocurrency, or blockchain can result in lost funds. Confirmed cryptocurrency transfers generally cannot be reversed.

How to Receive a ByteLixir Payout in Trust Wallet

Here's a practical example. ByteLixir is an app for Windows and Android that rewards users for sharing a portion of their unused internet bandwidth. You can request a payout in an available cryptocurrency and use Trust Wallet to receive it, provided the selected asset and blockchain are supported.

1. Open the Payouts Section in ByteLixir

Sign in to your ByteLixir dashboard and open Payouts. You may also use the Request payout button in the app. Check your available balance, supported cryptocurrencies, and payout requirements.

Example of the payout request button in ByteLixir (shown in the Russian-language interface). Payment methods and button labels may vary; check your current dashboard.

ByteLixir's minimum payout starts at $5 and may depend on the cryptocurrency selected. Without completing KYC verification, a single payout request is limited to $50. Always check the current terms in the Payouts section.

2. Choose the Cryptocurrency and Check the Blockchain

Let's say USDT is available as a payout option in ByteLixir. Check its terms to see which blockchain is used. Then open Trust Wallet and select the same version of USDT. If you're unable to find the asset or confirm compatibility, don't enter a random address. Check the available options first.

3. Copy Your Receiving Address in Trust Wallet

In Trust Wallet, open Receive for the correct cryptocurrency and blockchain, then tap Copy. Return to ByteLixir and paste the address into the payout field. Do not assume the pasted address is correct: compare every character with the address displayed in Trust Wallet.

Security Warning: Clipboard Hijackers Can Replace Wallet Addresses

A clipper is a type of malware that replaces a cryptocurrency address copied to your clipboard with someone else's address. You may copy the correct address in Trust Wallet, only to paste an address controlled by a scammer into the ByteLixir payout form. This can affect Android and Windows devices. Avoid installing apps or APK files from unverified sources.

How to check: Copy your address in Trust Wallet, paste it into ByteLixir, then AFTER pasting and BEFORE submitting your payout request, compare the FULL pasted address with the one shown on Trust Wallet's Receive screen. Check every character, not just the first and last few: scammers can use lookalike addresses.

If the addresses don't match, stop. Do not submit the payout request. Check your device for malware, remove any suspicious apps, and repeat the process from a device you trust.

Some cryptocurrencies and payout services may require additional information, such as a memo or tag. If you see a field for this, follow the requirements of that specific asset and payout method. Don't invent a value.

Never paste your secret recovery phrase into the wallet address field. Receiving a payout requires your public receiving address, not your 12 secret words.

4. Review the Details and Submit Your Payout Request

Before submitting, confirm that the amount meets the payout minimum and doesn't exceed your available balance. Recheck the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and full pasted address. If ByteLixir asks you to verify your phone number or complete an account check, follow the on-screen instructions, then submit the request.

A ByteLixir payout may take anywhere from a few minutes to three days to process. When funds appear in Trust Wallet also depends on blockchain confirmations. If the request takes longer than the stated timeframe, contact ByteLixir support.

Do You Need to Deposit Money to Receive a Payout in Trust Wallet?

You don't need to deposit anything to create a wallet or get a receiving address. Normally, receiving a cryptocurrency transfer does not require buying crypto first either. If someone tells you to send funds to an unfamiliar address to "unlock" a payout, don't do it. Verify the request through official support.

Some blockchains, however, have separate requirements for activating an address or sending funds onward. For example, using USDT on TRON may require TRX or sufficient blockchain resources for outgoing transactions. Follow Trust Wallet's instructions and the documentation for the relevant blockchain, particularly if a new address displays an activation message.

Sending cryptocurrency out of your wallet can involve fees. The amount and payment asset depend on the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Trust Wallet's available features. The app generally shows the terms before you confirm. Third-party exchange or selling fees are separate.

Before Your First Payout: A Quick Safety Checklist

• Your recovery phrase is written down and stored separately from your phone.

• The cryptocurrency and blockchain in Trust Wallet match the payout method.

• You copied the receiving address from your own wallet, not from a screenshot or someone else's message.

• Your payout amount meets the requirements of the selected method.

• AFTER pasting the address from your clipboard into ByteLixir, you checked the ENTIRE address against Trust Wallet BEFORE submitting.

Trust Wallet can also receive compatible cryptocurrency transfers from other services. If you're new to earning in the background, explore how ByteLixir works and our guide to payouts in earning apps.

Important notice. Trust Wallet is an independent third-party product. ByteLixir does not own or operate Trust Wallet, control funds or private keys held through it, or take responsibility for the wallet's availability, operation, interface changes, third-party fees, recovery options, or transactions made within Trust Wallet. This guide is for general information only and is not a recommendation to buy cryptocurrency. Users are responsible for verifying receiving details, asset and blockchain compatibility, and the security of their recovery phrases. For issues with ByteLixir payout processing, contact ByteLixir support.

  • Where Can I Find My USDT Address in Trust Wallet?

Tap Receive, search for USDT, and choose the correct blockchain. The app will display a QR code and an address you can copy. Don't select a blockchain based on fees alone: it must match the sender's option.

  • What If I Lose My Phone?

Install the official Trust Wallet app on another device and restore your wallet using your secret recovery phrase. Never share that phrase. If you've lost it, Trust Wallet generally cannot restore access for you.

  • What If My ByteLixir Payout Doesn't Arrive?

Check the request status in ByteLixir. If the payout is marked as sent, look for a transaction ID (TXID), if available, along with the cryptocurrency and blockchain used. You can check the transaction in a compatible blockchain explorer. Contact ByteLixir support about payout processing, or Trust Wallet support for wallet-related issues. Never send your recovery phrase or private keys to any support team.
